Oddworld Adventures 2

Oddworld Adventures 2 is the second Oddworld game to appear on a portable console, as well as being developed by an outside company (as opposed to Oddworld Inhabitants). Similar to its previous counter-part, Oddworld Adventures, the unlikely hero Abe returns to battle it out against the latest of the Magog Cartel's devilish plans. The game is based on a loose and condensed interpretation of the very popular Abe's Exoddus. As such, Abe begins his journey in the familiar Necrum Mines before advancing into the Mundanchee Vaults and Mudomo Vaults. Ultimately, Abe will reach his journey's end in SoulStorm Brewery.

Oddworld Adventures 2 was developed for the Game Boy Color, and takes advantage of its array of bright colours in some very unique ways. However, due to the backwards compatibility of the Game Boy Color and Game Boy system, the game can be played on the Game Boy system, albeit without colour. Abe's second incarnation on the Game Boy Color comes with the expected advancements. The game sports two modes of play, easy and normal, which both contain different sets of objectives: Easy, 13 Mudokons to save, spread through minimal levels; Normal, 31 Mudokons to save, spread through the full 24 levels.

While two seperate games, Oddworld Adventures 2 still shares many characteristics with Abe's Exoddus. For one, your main objective is still to rescue your Mudokon brothers from their inevitable deaths. Ingenious concepts like GameSpeak will return, albeit limited in its span of commands. Abe will also be able to possess the usual range of enemies, not to mention his own farts. While the game is not as richly detailed as its PlayStation counter-part, players will still have to overcome its challenging puzzles in the traditional Oddworld fashion.
